For over 15 years, Michelle Kent School of Dance has created excellence in dance education which thrives in a supportive, inspiring environment.
Fully DBS checked and insured, we ensure the safety and well-being of all students. We proudly teach the globally recognised ISTD syllabus, with our students regularly taking QCA-approved examinations in Ballet, Tap, and Modern.
Located in Hull and Skirlaugh, our accredited school is dedicated to nurturing young dancers’ talents and fostering a lifelong love of dance. Our passionate instructors create a safe, friendly space where every child can grow, express themselves, and thrive in our vibrant community.
Driven by enthusiasm, hard work, and years of experience, the Michelle Kent School of Dance was founded as a place where children can not only have fun but also learn to dance to the highest standards.
Meet the Team
Dance School Principle & Teacher
Miss Michelle
Miss Michelle began dancing at age 3 in Hull, where she quickly immersed herself in local competitions, shows, and exams. She pursued full-time dance training at Preston College, Lancashire, where she achieved Advanced-level ISTD exams in ballet, tap, modern, and national dance, along with associate teaching qualifications and a Level 3 foundation in dance instruction. After graduating in 2005 with a diploma in dance teaching, she returned to Hull teaching and achieving excellent exam results. Miss Michelle continues to advance her expertise through ongoing professional development, including attending the ISTD summer school and gaining her IDTA accreditation. Miss Michelle is committed to providing excellence in teaching, ensuring that her students receive the highest quality instruction and support to reach their full potential in dance.

Miss Lucy
Miss Lucy has been passionate about dance from a young age and has dedicated her life to the art. She studied and gained her dance qualifications in college alongside completing her ISTD gradings, showcasing her deep expertise and talent. With a rich history of competing both locally and nationally in numerous dance genres, Miss Lucy has also gained a professional career overseas for 3 years, performing numerous shows and productions. Her broad educational background and professional experience drives her passion for helping children gain competitive and professional experience in dance. Miss Lucy is committed to nurturing her students' growth, providing them with the tools and opportunities to excel both in their dance careers and personal development.

Shows
Our whole school show is an amazing opportunity for all of our students to showcase their talents and shine on stage! All our students have the opportunity to take part in this.
Exams
We're excited to give our students the opportunity to advance and thrive in the world of dance! We offer the incredible chance to study and take exams, covering both the ISTD and IDTA syllabuses for Ballet, Modern, and Tap.
Competitions
Selected students will have the exciting opportunity to compete in solo and group performances at both local and national levels. These competitions offer a chance to showcase their talent, gain recognition, and represent our school with pride.
